Russia continues to view Armenia as a brotherly country and ally, with which it closely cooperates, and is ready to build and deepen relations in the future, too, including in the context of the overall integration process of the EAEU. The Russian ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopyrkin, stated this while speaking with reporters at Victory Park in Yerevan today.

The diplomat emphasized that this position of Russia is well known, and has been repeatedly stated at various levels.

As for a reporter's question about whether the events of recent years have deteriorated the relations between Armenia and Russia, the Russian ambassador noted that there is a need to look reality in the eyes and adapt relations to that reality.

"What is important is that there be a political will, a desire on both sides to preserve the strong, deep foundations that exist and move forward with mutual respect for the sovereignty, interests of both countries," said the Russian diplomat.
