There is nothing more important for our state and everyone than sovereignty and independence, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan told reporters Wednesday.
“The message of the day is of great importance for all of us, both individually and as citizens of the Republic of Armenia,” said Grigoryan, who was in Aparan city today to attend the events dedicated to the 107th anniversary of the heroic battle of Bash Aparan.
When asked whether the scenario of the heroic battle of Bash Aparan could be repeated in the case of Artsakh Nagorno-Karabakh), the Armenian deputy premier replied that “the question is deep” and he would not want to discuss it in this format.
“Naturally, I have my opinion, but expressing [it] briefly would be wrong and a disrespect,” added Grigoryan.
The Armenian people celebrate First Republic Day anniversary on May 28. On this day in 1918, the Armenian statehood that had been disrupted for centuries was restored. In May of that year, Armenian regular forces and volunteers managed to win life-and-death battles against the Turkish invaders in Gharakilisa, Bash Aparan, and Sardarapat, stopping their advance and their desire to completely seize Armenia.
