Director of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia, Armen Abazyan, positively assessed the results of the meeting between the members of the Armenian and Azerbaijani commissions on captives, hostages, and missing persons.

Abazyan expressed his assessment while speaking with reporters, and noting that this was the second such meeting.

“The fate of the missing and possible search operations were discussed. A preliminary agreement was reached to make these operations long-term. I positively assess the results of the meeting,” noted the head of the NSS of Armenia.

Responding to the question about the returning of the captives, Abazyan emphasized that, “Everyone is waiting, and we are most interested in the fastest possible result.”

“At the moment, I cannot say whether there will be a result tomorrow, in five days, in a month, or in a year. But everything is being done on our part to achieve a result,” added the director of the NSS of Armenia.

And when asked, “Where will the search operations be carried out? In Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)]?” Abazyan did not elaborate, and reiterated that an agreement had been reached on joint search operations.
