Sargis Khandanyan, an MP of the ruling majority Civil Contract Faction and Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, considers Israel's attack on Iran extremely worrying and condemnable.

"The situation that is underway, unfortunately, does not take a break. This is very worrying from the point of view of regional security," Khandanyan told reporters at the NA Tuesday.

He hopes, however, that it will be possible to cease fire and return to negotiations in the near future.

As for Armenia's reaction and why it is not convening a Security Council meeting on the matter, Khandanyan noted that the Armenian government and the Security Council were holding discussions in various formats and were promptly monitoring the situation.

"Work is constantly being carried out, the situation is being studied, assessments and possible countermeasures are being given. If there is anything related to Armenia, naturally, there will be an immediate response," he added.

According to Khandanyan, the current situation in Iran raises concerns, as, after all, it is a country bordering Armenia and the security situation in the region may become tense.

“But, as for an attack on Armenia by Azerbaijan, I must continue to insist: Azerbaijan has no valid reason and legitimacy to launch any aggression against Armenia,” said the ruling force MP.
