Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan has found it difficult to comment on the statements by Russian foreign ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova.

"To comment on them, I have to give an assessment of the media literacy of this or that person. Nonetheless, there are friendly and allied relations between Armenia and Russia; that’s why let me refrain [from commenting on them]," the deputy FM said during a press briefing after Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

Kostanyan recalled one of the famous words: "Give me a foothold, and I will turn the world upside down."

"It seems that our Russian colleagues, not finding a foothold in Russia, are looking for other places. Naturally, in the case of Armenia-Russia friendly relations, we can discuss providing a foothold, but it is not desirable," added the Armenian deputy foreign minister.
