Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke at a press conference held in Kyrgyzstan following the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

Among other matters, Lavrov assessed as well the events taking place in Armenia.

"The events in that country are its internal affair, but the [Armenian authorities’] attacks against the [Armenian Apostolic] church cause concern. The [Armenian Apostolic] church has always been one of the key pillars of Armenian society, and we would not want that [the Armenian Apostolic] church to be subjected to unjustified attacks without any serious justification," said the Russian FM.
