We consider the ban on the entry of Russian citizens as an unfriendly step that contradicts the allied nature of the Russian-Armenian interaction. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on July 9.

"We discuss this not only behind closed doors, but also publicly. The topic of stop-lists in relations with Armenia has to be commented on quite often.

We have repeatedly urged our Armenian partners to stop this vicious practice.

The issue was discussed by the foreign ministers during the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to the Republic of Armenia in May. The Armenian side was offered concrete steps, so we are waiting for Yerevan's reaction," Zakharova emphasized.

At the same time, she noted that the bilateral dialog with Armenia, given the close ties between the countries and peoples, has a branched character.

"Several high-level visits have already taken place since the beginning of the year. We announce contacts and visits when they have already been agreed upon and there is a mutual understanding about the possibility of their announcement," Zakharova added.
