The Yerevan City Criminal Court of First Instance on Wednesday issued the verdict on the case of pregnant woman Sona Mnatsakanyan, who had died after being hit by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's motorcade in downtown Yerevan on April 26, 2022.

The defendant, Aram Navasardyan, was found guilty, and the preventive measure of ban on leaving Armenia remained unchanged.

The last court hearing in this case was held Tuesday. The examination of this case has dragged on for about three years, and the defendant is Aram Navasardyan, the driver of the motorcade car that had hit Sona Mnatsakanyan. Navasardyan has never been taken into custody since the beginning of this criminal case.

Sona Mnatsakanyan was 31 weeks pregnant, and after the aforesaid accident she was taken to a hospital already dead.

According to the indictment, after hitting Mnatsakanyan with the car, Navasardyan had left the scene and driven away.
