A border that has been closed for more than 30 years.

Armenia has repeatedly made attempts to reopen the border with Turkey; and in 2009, the matter reached the point of “football diplomacy.”

But Turkey has constantly posited some preconditions, indicating Armenia’s need to establish relations with neighboring Azerbaijan. This was Ankara’s main condition, which has not changed for decades.

But now there is hope—at least among the incumbent Armenian authorities.

The opponents, on the other hand, are sure that Turkey and Azerbaijan in general want to achieve the destruction of the Armenian ethnos and describe the most gloomy prospects.

And analysts make cautious assessments.
