I remind that we have an agenda of the adoption of a new constitution, and I have noted 2027 as the deadline. We are currently working on the draft, and when it is ready, we will hold a referendum, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a press briefing Thursday.
Pashinyan assured that this has nothing to do with the current processes, although strategically they can also affect that process.
“I have stated also that if during the ratification process our Constitutional Court decides that the peace agreement with Azerbaijan, which is currently initialed and will be signed later, will contradict the constitution [of Armenia], then I myself will take the initiative to make amendments to the constitution. [But] there is no need to think about it now,” the Armenian PM noted.
