In 2022, I announced that if we can preserve our independence for one or two years, then it is guaranteed for the next century. And we have now crossed that threshold, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a press briefing Thursday.

He added, however, that this does not mean that all risks have been eliminated. According to him, this situation, this world requires daily care, and the PM called for living a "new life."

Pashinyan noted that his opponents had made skeptical predictions about the text of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

But he noted that after August 8—when Armenia and Azerbaijan initialed a US-brokered peace deal in Washington—Armenia’s investment and economic indicators are growing every day.

“In June and July, a record number of tourists came to Armenia in history. And this is also an economic effect,” the premier added.

Pashinyan recalled that in March, Armenia and Azerbaijan had announced that they had agreed on the text of the peace agreement, and expressed confidence that it was precisely as a result of this, in his opinion, that a record number of tourists visited Armenia a month later.
