I don’t think that the people will vote against the adoption of the new constitution if it suddenly turns out that it can somehow affect the peace process—with Azerbaijan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a press briefing Thursday.

Pashinyan emphasized that the Armenian opposition called the November 9, 2020 statement a “capitulation,” but did not say that it will withdraw its signature if it came to power. He concluded that the opposition will thus bear political accountability for what they called a “capitulation.”

“They still call to be guided by this document, and not by the Washington declaration [of August 8],” the Armenian premier noted.
