The Armenian foreign minister did not directly answer the question of whether the Armenian customs officers will inspect the Azerbaijanis. In an interview with the Public Television Company, Ararat Mirzoyan reflected on the publicized document and repeated PM Nikol Pashinyan’s statements.
“We [i.e. Armenia] will get access to the infrastructure of Azerbaijan; naturally, Azerbaijan will get access to our infrastructure, including an unhindered road through the territory of Armenia to connect with Nakhichevan, with mutual advantages for Armenia for international and domestic transport movement.
Before the opening of these infrastructures, there must be a border delimitation, the flag of the RA [(Republic of Armenia)] must be placed on this side, the flag of Azerbaijan on that side, some kind of border checkpoint must be built, border services must be established, this will be within the framework of the sovereignty, territorial, integrity and jurisdiction of the two countries, we have agreed on what is written," the Armenian FM announced.
