By Khoren Grigoryan, reporting from Beijing A parade is taking place in Chinese capital Beijing's main Tiananmen ("Gate of Heavenly Peace") Square, dedicated to the Chinese people's war of resistance against the Japanese invaders and the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II (PHOTOS).

Twenty-six foreign leaders, including Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, have been invited to the ceremony dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory. Chinese President Xi Jinping will deliver an important speech and hold a military parade. The People's Liberation Army of China plans to showcase its military power during the parade.

About 40 thousand soldiers and more than 500 units of military equipment are expected pass through the square. The final part of this ceremonial parade will be an air show consisting of 100 aircraft. The ceremonial procession will combine the historical traditions and modern achievements of China.

The parade will also showcase new Chinese-made weapons and military equipment to the public. The parade will combine tradition and modernity. A 1,000-piece military orchestra, led by three conductors, will march through the square. It consists of 14 units, symbolizing the 14-year conflict. The event will be opened by a unit of 80 trumpeters, a symbol of the 80th anniversary of the victory in World War II.
