Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng in Beijing, the PM’s office informs.
Han welcomed Pashinyan’s visit to China and participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and the parade held in Beijing. He noted that the fruitful meeting between the Armenian PM and Chinese President Xi Jinping resulted in the establishment of a strategic partnership between Armenia and China, which will contribute to the development and expansion of cooperation in all domains. Han Zheng noted that China attaches great importance to the establishment of a strategic partnership with Armenia, and in this regard, the Armenian premier’s visit to China is of key importance.
In turn, PM Pashinyan expressed gratitude for the invitation and warm welcome, and emphasized that his working visit to China is of great importance for Armenia. The premier noted that as a result of this visit, Armenia-China relations have been elevated to the level of a strategic partnership, which creates new opportunities for the further deepening and expansion of ties. He added that in recent years, cooperation between Armenia and China has been developing in the political, economic and cultural domains, and ties between the Armenian and Chinese peoples are being strengthened. According to the prime minister, the two peoples have great sympathy for each other, and this is a solid basis for the advancement of comprehensive cooperation.
Subsequently, the interlocutors exchanged views on a number of matters of international importance, and expressed a conviction that in the near future, Armenia-China cooperation will develop both at the bilateral level and on multilateral platforms.
