The normalization of relations with Turkey continues to be one of the priorities of Armenia's foreign policy. Deputy speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Ruben Rubinyan, who is also the country’s special representative for the normalization process with Turkey, stated this at the 108th Rose-Roth Seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which is being held in Armenia’s capital Yerevan.

"Our [i.e. Armenia’] dialogue with the Turkish side continues, and we are convinced that this historic opportunity to build good neighborly relations should not be missed. The normalization of relations [between Armenia and Turkey] will not only bring stability and prosperity to our region, but will also contribute to the strengthening of global security, showing that long-standing disagreements can be overcome through dialogue and diplomacy.

We hope that Turkey will respond to our readiness to establish diplomatic relations and have open borders as soon as possible. We are ready for this today," Rubinyan added.
