There is no political motive and there cannot be. Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, told this to reporters Friday regarding the murder of the mayor of Parakar enlarged community, Volodya Grigoryan.

Simonyan believes that this incident stems from previously existing interpersonal issues.

“Why should there be a political context?” he asked rhetorically.

Simonyan assured that the Armenian authorities have respected the results of the Parakar local elections and the mayor Grigoryan himself.
