Russia is currently processing applications to export goods to Armenia through Azerbaijan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a press briefing Thursday.

According to him, wheat from Kazakhstan has not yet reached Armenia, but traffic is already being redirected to import goods into Armenia via transit through Azerbaijan. “Before Kazakh wheat reaches Armenia, new cargo may arrive in our country; the situation is constantly changing, new applications are being submitted,” the Armenian PM noted.

Pashinyan considered it important to explain how goods will move in the opposite direction; that is, from Armenia to Russia or other countries through Georgia and Azerbaijan.

In his assessment, a major development has taken place. “I once again confirm that we [i.e. Armenia] are ready to ensure the passage of Turkish and Azerbaijani trucks along the Margara–Kornidzor route — from Turkey to Azerbaijan and in the opposite direction,” the Armenian premier said.
