Armenia will never refuse to acquire wheat from Russia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during the question-and-answer session with the government, in the National Assembly of Armenia Wednesday.

“But Armenia will never refuse to look at what else is available on the market, who is selling wheat. Is there an offer of wheat for us? (...). Today, I don’t want to hide [it]; there are offers. When they saw that we have acquired [wheat] from Kazakhstan, other sellers also say, ‘Maybe it’s interesting?’ And we say, ‘Tell [us] the price.’ If the price and quality are interesting, we will say yes,” Pashinyan added.

As reported earlier, Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service had claimed that Yerevan, for political reasons, wants to disconnect from Moscow and help Kyiv by buying more expensive grain from Ukraine.

And later today, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commenting on the intelligence regarding Yerevan’s alleged intention to buy grain from Kyiv, noted that Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service never issues unfounded statements.
