We have made a very grave mistake for a long time: we have left our church alone with the schismatic, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Tuesday, January 6, the Armenian Christmas day.

“Today’s march is about the fact that we have returned, we have come, and we will not leave our [Armenian Apostolic] Church, our church's spiritual ministers, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ alone in our church,” he noted.

Pashinyan assured that his actions regarding the Armenian Apostolic Church are not political. “The [Armenian Apostolic] Church and the state are together now,” he added.

Pashinyan called on the people to participate in the Divine Liturgy and to reject the name that should not be heard from the Armenian Apostolic Church altars until the moment when Armenians will have a “legitimate” Catholicos of All Armenians who is truly elected by the people, in the name of Jesus Christ, and by the Armenian national church assembly.
