The situation in Iran has been under control since Saturday night, Iranian ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami told a press conference Wednesday.

"At the moment, there are no protests and rallies in Iran. There have been no protests in the last four days—if we do not take into account the events supporting solidarity and tolerance in Iranian society. People realized that the protests led to clashes, which were provoked by terrorists," the Iranian diplomat said.

He informed that there are detainees who have confessed.

Shirgholami noted that any interference in Iran's internal affairs deserves condemnation.

According to his information, Zionists in the US attempted to convince President Donald Trump to attack Iran and distract the Iranian government so that the elements they support could develop their actions inside Iran.

“We [i.e. Iran] have said that we do not want war, but we are ready for a proportionate response in case of possible aggression against our country. I hope that Trump will not become a victim of the ideas of a group of radicals,” added the Iranian ambassador to Armenia.
