The return of Armenians still held in Azerbaijan’s capital city Baku will be a significant contribution by Azerbaijan to reconciliation between the two countries and peoples, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in his address Wednesday at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) session in Strasbourg, France.

The recent release of four Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan inspires hope for the release of the remaining 19 Armenian prisoners, as well as for cooperation in determining the fate of those still missing, Mirzoyan added.

Also, he lauded the Council of Europe and PACE’s consistent attention toward the South Caucasus and the assistance provided to the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
