Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed a wish that the narrative of distrust and lies not prevail in the public domain of Russia and Armenia.
"I hope that Armenia is well aware of what is hidden behind the situation when the European Union, the European members of NATO have openly declared war on Russia in order to inflict a strategic defeat. I would very much like the narrative that sows distrust—and sometimes, lies—not to dominate and not to prevail in the public sphere of our countries," Lavrov said during a meeting with the visiting speaker of the Armenian National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, in Moscow.
The Russian foreign minister stated that his country never objects to any of its partners developing foreign relations in any direction, but the European Union partners constantly make the given country faced with a choice: "either with us or with them [i.e. Russia]."
