“We have recorded significant progress in the field of Armenia-U.S. military and defense partnership,” Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today, February 9, during a statement with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.

“In continuation of our long-term security cooperation and the three consecutive years of joint ‘Eagle’ partner exercises, Armenia has acquired V-B-8 type unmanned aerial vehicles from the U.S., whose effectiveness has been proven through extensive operational experience and which will significantly contribute to strengthening our defense capabilities.

I also expressed hope that this deal, carried out under the U.S. Foreign Military Sales program, will serve as a basis for expanding further cooperation,” he added.

Earlier, NEWS.am reported that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance arrived in Armenia on an official visit on February 9, accompanied by his wife, Usha Vance. At Zvartnots Airport, they were welcomed by the President of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, and Armenia’s Ambassador to the U.S., Narek Mkrtchyan.

The American delegation also includes Jacob Helberg, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs. Upon arrival in Armenia, he posted: “Next stop: Yerevan, Armenia.”
