“I am very happy to be in Armenia, and I am especially grateful that you described the Second Lady, Usha Vance, as esteemed, which probably already set expectations for the future. This is a truly wonderful country, and the United States is very proud to cooperate with it,” U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said today, February 9, during a press statement in Yerevan with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

“President Trump sends his personal greetings to you and to the people of Armenia. President Trump and Prime Minister Pashinyan have achieved great things together. Peace is not created by cautious people, peace is not built in the past; peace is built for the future. Since the Prime Minister has made such significant progress working with me and the President, we are creating not only peace for Armenia together, but also prosperity in partnership with the United States.

Today we want to announce things that would not have been possible without your leadership, your commitments, and without the leadership of our President. I truly believe that today marks a new beginning for Armenia-U.S. cooperation and partnership.

I want to highlight a few points. The Prime Minister already mentioned them, but I will emphasize again what we will continue to work on. First, as he noted, the United States proudly approved this wonderful technical agreement for NVIDIA. This means new markets and new jobs, both for the American workforce and companies, as well as for Armenia. These are chips that most countries in the world do not have, do not exist, and cannot exist. Now they will be and are already being built in Armenia thanks to the Prime Minister’s leadership,” he said.

Earlier, NEWS.am reported that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance arrived in Armenia on February 9 for an official visit with his wife, Usha Vance. At Zvartnots Airport, they were welcomed by the President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan, Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan, and Armenia’s Ambassador to the U.S., Narek Mkrtchyan.

The American delegation also includes Jacob Helberg, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs. Upon arrival in Armenia, he posted: “Next stop — Yerevan, Armenia.”
