The speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia does not imagine Russia's participation in the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.

“How do you imagine it? TRIPP is an Armenian-American organization,” Alen Simonyan told reporters on Tuesday.

He reminded that movement through the territory of Armenia is not limited only to the framework of TRIPP.

“Now let's assume that flour, wheat or oil products come [to Armenia from Azerbaijan]. They do not come within the framework of TRIPP, right? Am I right?” Simonyan noted, adding that the Russian side could have proposed expanding the project and including other directions in it.

“A similar mechanism related to TRIPP has been on our table for a long time, we have discussed it. It is another matter that it was possible with the US and it was a cornerstone in the framework of peace thanks to the US president,” the NA speaker said.

Continuing the idea, he did not rule out that the option of Russia’s participation could be considered by the American side, of course with the consent of the Armenian side.

In conclusion, Simonyan stated that Russia should not focus on TRIPP.

“This is not the only road that has passed or will pass through Armenia. There are many roads,” the NA speaker said.
