Central Electoral Commission Secretary Armen Sumbatyan presented a provision of the Electoral Code that has entered into force, according to which a party or bloc participating in regular parliamentary elections must approve the first 30 candidates on the electoral list by a congress decision.
He noted in particular: "Electoral legislation requires that parties participating in regular National Assembly elections, or parties forming part of blocs, hold a congress at which the names and surnames of the first 30 candidates on the electoral list, as well as their order, must be approved.
A party running independently must determine its first 30 candidates and their order, while parties forming part of a bloc must determine the details and order of the first 30 candidates on the bloc's joint list."
