Recently, two high-ranking officials were here, EU Commissioner Marta Kos and Commissioner Brunner. We had very positive discussions, because both commissioners recorded that Armenia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a coordinator, has excellently fulfilled the task set before it, and this was the reason that we received the action plan in record-fast time. Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan told this to reporters in the National Assembly today—and referring to the process of Armenia's visa liberalization with the European Union (EU).

"Moreover, many measures that we [i.e. Armenia] would have expected, for example, to be implemented in the coming years, we have already implemented today. Both European officials stated that [EU] visa liberalization is very realistic for the Republic of Armenia.

We have set ourselves the task of completing all the measures within the republic within about two years. This is very realistic, because this is very much in line with the reform agenda of the Armenian government, and it is not as if the content of the action plan should dictate to us to start doing something.

We have a very realistic process. And if we maintain the same pace of implementing the action plan, we will have a visa-free regime [with the EU] in the coming years,” added the minister of internal affairs of Armenia.
