Armenia's dependence on Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union has increased manifold under Pashinyan. This view was expressed by Garnik Danielyan, a member of parliament from the opposition "Armenia" bloc, in a conversation with journalists.

Responding to a question about a phone call and discussions between Pashinyan and Putin, the MP noted that the conversation apparently concerned the restoration of the railway — in connection with the TRIPP project, as editors note. According to the parliamentarian, concession management by a certain Kazakh company is also being discussed.

Commenting on the overtly anti-Russian statements made by representatives of the ruling party, Danielyan observed that under Pashinyan, Armenia's economic dependence on Russia and the EAEU has multiplied — despite assurances of diversification. "What is the alternative if they walk away? Around the world, economics and politics are intertwined. Economic dependence leads to political dependence. Look at the numbers yourselves," the MP remarked.
