We do not want to express a position or draw conclusions on this issue in advance. Iranian ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami stated this in an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am, responding to a question about Tehran's possible concerns about the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.

The Iranian diplomat commented on Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk’s statement that the US needs a corridor through Armenia to transport important minerals from Central Asia and establish overseeing over Iran.

"We [i.e. Iran] have expressed our opinion on this issue earlier and said that we are not against developing the potential of Armenia as a transit route. We have also discussed with the Armenian authorities the topic of lifting the blockade, the North-South route, and connecting the Black Sea and the Persian Gulf. We have also expressed our concern that security issues will not arise in this regard," the Iranian ambassador noted.

He stressed that the Iranian side takes into account the fact that the US, represented by President Donald Trump and Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, has announced that Iran will return to the “Stone Age.”

“While many were still living in caves, Persia, led by King Cyrus the Great, issued the first declaration of human rights,” said the Iranian ambassador to Armenia.
