YEREVAN. – The reason why Armenians are number one in Google search for the word “porno” is conditioned by several factors, psychologist Khachatur Gasparyan said during a press conference on Friday.     

He noted that the problems in this regard are tied to the fact that sexual education issues are a “closed” subject in the Armenian scene. “It is unaccepted to speak about this in the Armenian family. Our language mindset does not tolerate speaking about it,” Gasparyan maintained.   

In his turn, sexologist Vrezh Shahramanyan likewise underscored sexual education. “It is time for us to raise the curtain, to abandon the fake piety, to call it like it is, and to forget the fairy tales about storks,” he argued.       

In line with Goggle’s statistics, ever since 2004 Armenia is in first place—with an indicator of 100—in the growth trend in searching for the word “porno.” And this indicator is the highest in Google Insights.

Armenia is followed by Albania, Turkey, and Georgia respectively.
