In the City Hall of Suri, Turkey, a political council consisting of national minorities (Kırklar meclisi) was established.

As Firat agency informs, the council was established on the initiative of the mayor and it includes the Armenians, Assyrians, Yazidis, Turkmens living in the city, different religious communities of the city, NGO’s of Diyarbakir province, the City Mayor Abdullah Demirbas, the Deputy Mayor Ali Altinkaynak and the adviser of the mayor Naksi Sayar.

According to the mayor, the aim of the council is to include people who are not represented in the City Council.

To remind, a month ago the City Hall of Suri organized three-month courses of Armenian language.
