YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday received Yukiya Amano, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Sargsyan stressed that nuclear energy is of vital importance for Armenia, and the latter attaches a great importance to cooperation with the IAEA, considering this collaboration as an important component of Armenia’s energy and nuclear safety, the President’s Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.     

In his turn, Yukiya Amano noted that the IAEA and Armenia have a common goal: the continuous strengthening of the safety of Armenia’s working nuclear power plant, and close cooperation toward construction of a new plant.
