President Barack Obama once again avoided using the word “genocide” in his April 24 address breaking his pledge as Senator and Presidential candidate to properly recognize the Armenian Genocide as President, the head of the Hay Dat office Kiro Mnaoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to him, this might lead to the fall of the US president’s rating.

“Besides it is hard to say for whom the Armenians of the USA might vote. We must wait and see what the opponent of Obama will say,” Kiro Mnaoyan said mentioning that if the Armenians decide not to vote for Obama it will not be a ‘punishment’ for him. “Political disposition, nothing more.”

According to Manoyan although Obama did not use the word Genocide his speech was the opposite of what the Turks wanted.

“Yes he did not say Genocide but he described it, stated the characteristics of genocide. He called the events of 1915 Mets Eghern. Moreover, Obama announced that his disposition towards that issue did not change. This does not satisfy the Armenians but neither does it Turkey,” Kiro Manoyan announced.
