ANKARA. – Turkey’s Foreign Affairs Ministry reacted to US President Barack Obama’s April 24 statement—devoted to 97th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide—and called it unfounded and biased.   

Obama’s statement, which is issued against the backdrop of domestic political concerns and which contains a one-sided point of view, also makes it difficult to normalize Turkey-Armenia relations, the Turkish MFA’s statement noted.   

Just like past year, this year as well Obama used the Armenian term “Medz Yeghern” in his April 24 statement to describe the Armenian Genocide.
