YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia launched a proposal for making changes in the Law on Patent Fees, whereby the tax burden of small and medium businesses will be reduced, PM Tigran Sargsyan stated during Thursday’s Government session.

He noted that those business entities which carry out patent activities for a three-month or a longer term, will pay less tax than those that pay with a one-month term.

The other privilege will be offered to restaurants with an area of up to 20 m2. Pursuant to the current law, the minimum patent fee is specified for restaurants with an area of up to 50 m2. But considering the fact that there are numerous restaurants in Armenia with an area of up to 20 m2, the Government will charge a smaller patent fee especially for this category.
