YEREVAN. – Armenian National Congress (ANC) released a statement on the occasion of the incident occurred in the Mashtots Park in downtown Yerevan on April 29.

“Applied illegal force against the environmental activists in the Park on April 29 brought forward injuries. The initiative with its determination and registered successes can serve as a base for establishing civil society. However, the incumbent authorities consider it the most dangerous thing. At the same time the ANC supports the activists and condemns the illegalities against them by police. Civil movements will register no success beyond the general political context,” the ANC statement reads.

Earlier the Armenian News-NEWS.am has informed that dismantling brigades in the Park have tried to dismantle the half-built boutiques on April 29. However, they crashed with police and one activist got injured.
