YEREVAN. – Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP candidate in Yerevan’s Avan district Ruben Hayrapetyan believes that the election campaign passed calmly. He does not share the thought that the candidates of ruling party hampered the work of the opposition nominees.

“Some candidates need to be engaged in intrigues. The same Armenian National Congress (ANC) MP candidate in Yerevan’s Malatsia-Sebastia district Nikol Pashinyan would like to be beaten. However, we have a strict command to hold the best elections ever,” Hayrapetyan told Aravot daily.

According to him, another opposition MP candidate from Heritage party Stepan Safaryan claimed as if Hayrapetyan’s supporters hampered their work in Avan district of Yerevan.

The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is a ruling conservative party in Armenia founded on 2 April, 1990, and registered on 14 May, 1991, being the first officially registered socio-political organization in the independent Republic of Armenia.

Since 2003, the Republican Party is a core member of the ruling coalition along with the Prosperous Armenia and Orinats Yerkir parties. RPA has majority of seats in the Armenian parliament since 2003.

The Republican Party of Armenia will run in the parliamentary elections under its new slogan: “Let us believe to change!” The Party’s proportional list includes 253 names.
