YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition Republic Party Chairman Aram Sargsyan, who was in Brussels recently, decided to give up his parliamentary mandate if becoming an MP as a result of Sunday’s National Assembly elections, Zhoghovurd daily writes, referring to its well-informed sources.

“Sargsyan’s fellow party members are announcing everywhere that their party leader will not enter the parliament alone, because his battle is not for that mandate. So, following the elections the Republic [Party] will automatically leave the [opposition bloc] Armenian National Congress.

We were unable to receive comments personally from Sargsyan regarding this news, since he already announced he will say nothing until the elections. And this demeanor is likewise a certain attitude toward the elections and their results,” Zhoghovurd writes.
