YEREVAN. – Economically active part of Armenia’s population makes 1.4 million or 45 percent of the overall population, Armenia’s National Statistical Service reports.

Economically active population is at the age of 15-75, who are employed or unemployed (thus securing for job offers).

Share of the economically active population in Armenia as compared to other CIS states, is low. It testifies to the generation getting old. For comparison, it makes 53 percent in Russia, 52 percent in Kazakhstan, 50 percent in Belarus and Azerbaijan and only Tajikistan is behind Armenia with 30 percent.
