YEREVAN. – The Republic Party released a statement commenting on its decision of ceasing its membership in the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC).

The party claims that it is loyal to its principles and is ready to cooperate with all parties, which are to realize system changes in Armenia based on strong value system and democratic standards. The first step of which is removal of current authorities, establishment of democracy and reinforcement of statehood.

Sharing the necessity for system changes with the ANC, at the same the party disagrees with the bloc on settling foreign and domestic political issues, has strategic and fundamental disagreements. Hence, the party suspends membership to the opposition congress.
