YEREVAN. – The transactions conducted with euro have become more active in Armenia’s financial market in an unprecedented way. Last week Armenia’s banks bought €145.5 million and sold €152.7 million, the Central Bank’s bulletin informs, and this is corroborated by the Bank’s media service.
Armenia’s weekly euro transactions have always been €4-10 million, and, consequently, such rise could not have gone unnoticed.
And the reason for such sharp increase could be as follows: flow of euro into Armenia from abroad, its conversion into dollar, and the outflow of dollar.
In such case, it is not too surprising as to why there was a great demand for the dollar in Armenia’s financial market, and in such short period of time.
