YEREVAN. – 5 NGOs organized a Diversity Parade in Yerevan on Tuesday.

As the organizers of the parade announced, the parade aimed to direct public attention towards the cultural, ethnic, religious and natural diversities in Armenia, but some extremists spread false information about the Diversity Parade to be a gay parade.

Parallel to the Diversity Parade another action organized by extremist youths was taking place. The participants of the protest actions were following the participants of the Diversity Parade and were insulting them.

As our correspondent reports from the scene, one of the protest action participants insulted a reporter and was detained by the police.

To note, the Diversity Parade opened the Diversity Week in the framework of which different events are to take place. The organizers claim that their cultural project does not have anything to do with homosexuals.
