YEREVAN. – Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) refused to form a new coalition as Republican Party failed “to make an offer it could not refuse”, political analyst Sergey Minasyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

There are only two people aware of this offer – President, head of Republican Party of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Prosperous Armenia Party.

This step opens intrigues in regard to the presidential elections next year. The expert theoretically did not rule out that the PAP may nominate its candidate for the highest post.

According to Minasyan, Armenia is going to have a unique domestic-political image, which will influence positively the government-opposition relations.

Regarding the PAP’s role as false opposition, the expert said that the fight between the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and the PAP was much stronger during the recent parliamentary elections, as compared to that between radical opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) and RPA.
