YEREVAN. – Sharp increase of the U.S. dollar exchange rate against Armenian national currency AMD is conditioned by cutting down the volumes of dollar and increasing the national currency, former PM, member of oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) Hrant Bagratyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As a matter of fact, increase of dollar supply yield to the increase of money supply in AMD, which brings forth destabilization. Forecasting further situation developments in the Armenian market, Bagratyan said that there will be no sharp decrease this year, however, it may be expected next year.

As the agency has earlier informed, dollar was rated AMD 406 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange. In addition, it increased by AMD 14-15 for the recent month.
