YEREVAN. – Intolerance towards sexual minorities gains new shade. An incident occurred in the Komaygi Park in Yerevan downtown, in front of the City Hall on Tuesday, as a vehicle stopped and people in it fired in the direction of the transvestites gathered in the park.

According to the information of Armenian News-NEWS.am, shots were fired from a vehicle at midnight causing a panic among the transvestites.

To note, it was an air gun and only several got slight injuries. Police confirmed the incident for the agency adding those having fired the shots are detained and an investigation is underway.

According to the agency’s own source, the people who fired on transvestites are 20-22 years old boys.
