YEREVAN. – The US dollar’s average exchange rate against the Armenian dram (AMD) comprised AMD 406.31/$1, at NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange on Tuesday.

Following a nearly-two-week upward trend, the US currency is finally beginning to lose ground in Armenia, and this could be result of the dollar interventions by the Central Bank. The latter carried out a $31-million intervention at the stock exchange past week, and this was a record for 2012.       

And the total sales were close to $9 million.

The dollar is starting to lose value in Armenia’s cash foreign currency market, too. The exchange offices already sell it at AMD 407/$1, instead of AMD 409/$1 in the previous days.
