YEREVAN. – The explosion which happened at Yerevan’s Electron Factory on Tuesday took the lives of head of production Azibek Barsamyan, 64, and his deputy Janibek Martirosyan, 67, Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritzyan announced.

Azibek died on spot, while Janibek Martirosyan was taken to Erebuni Medical Center where he spent the last minutes of his life.

Armen Yeritzyan refrained from commenting on the causes of the explosion saying that it is early to talk about it.

A criminal case has been launched.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, a blast hit Electron factory in Yerevan on Tuesday. A fire broke out which was followed by an explosion.
