YEREVAN. – After “baklava” and the Turkish black coffee, the Turks are now concerned that the Armenians will now “take away their ‘lahmacun,’” Hayots Ashkharh daily writes.  

“The cause for such panic in Turkey is restaurant chain owner Tahir Tekin Oztan’s declaration that he saw how the Armenians in Serbia had presented the ‘lahmajo’ (lahmacun) as ‘Armenian pizza.’

‘We do not own up to our cuisine well. Many countries are trying to own our dishes, just as the Greeks owned up to ‘baklava,’ he said,” Hayots Ashkharh writes.
