Israeli scientists grew a new sort of marihuana which provides an excellent analgesic effect without the accompanying pleasure.

The main active substance in the ordinary cannabis is delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol – this is the substance calming the pain but also causing euphoria, drug intoxication and memory loss.

Scientists decided to grow ‘harmless’ marihuana, with a decreased amount of tetrahydrocannabinol and an increased amount of canabidiol, which does not cause drug intoxication but calms the pain, Rosbalt writes.

The new plant has already been given to hospitals.
